About the position

Datadog is seeking early-career engineers to contribute to the collection, aggregation, visualization, and analysis of high-scale metrics, logs, and application data. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on large-scale, real-time systems, collaborating with senior teammates to make a meaningful impact on the product. Engineers will engage in various tasks, including writing integrations, building data pipelines, and working with the open-source community, all while fostering a creative and collaborative office culture in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Solve a scaling bottleneck in a critical service
  • Deploy a new feature to production and progressively roll it out with feature flags
  • Investigate and fix a production issue from a service your team owns
  • Create a way to optimize a service to handle more traffic at scale
  • Plan the most important projects to work on next in partnership with your team

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or have a degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related scientific field, or equivalent experience
  • Targeting a 2025 full-time start date
  • Comfortable coding in one or more languages (experience with Go or Python is a plus)
  • Value code simplicity and performance
  • Experience as a software engineering intern or related experience
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment that values its employees and customers
  • Self-starter who enjoys partnering with other engineers and solving difficult problems
  • Available to start work from one of the specified dates: February 24, 2025, July 7, 2025, or August 25, 2025
