About the position

The Software Engineer Expert position at Cognito Cyber Group is focused on developing and supporting applications that enhance operational efficiency and automate processes within the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense. The role requires a strong proficiency in front-end development, particularly using Angular, and involves collaboration with technical teams to align solutions with overarching digital architecture.

Responsibilities

• Support applications development for various tools and initiatives focused on streamlining operations and automating processes.
• Promote state-of-the-art IT solutions and collaborate with IT mission partners to share technology and lessons learned.
• Ensure records management processes are included in the early design stages of IT solutions across the Intelligence Community.
• Work with customer technical interfaces to align future technology plans with overall customer architecture.

Requirements

• Proficiency with front end application language frameworks - Angular 13+, Javascript, Typescript, CSS, HTML, NodeJs, NPM.
• Experience implementing graphical user interface (GUI) components in web applications using the Angular framework.
• Ability to build reusable code and libraries for future use.
• Knowledge of asynchronous programming paradigms.
• Experience with Linux (Bash) shell scripting.
• Familiarity with automated testing for front end applications (i.e. Jasmine, Selenium, Cypress).
• Experience with web-based platforms for searches or analytics on large data sets.
• Ability to design, develop, test, and implement new applications based on project requirements.
• Skill in decomposing concepts into discrete development tasks and managing work to deadlines.
• Ability to develop wireframes and storyboards for front end solutions.
• Experience optimizing front end applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Familiarity with developing front end solutions with 508 compliance in mind.

Nice-to-haves

• Middle-tier application design and development using frameworks like NodeJs, Java, or Python.
• Development and deployment of applications in the Commercial Cloud Services (C2S) environment or AWS.
• Experience with data visualization tools (i.e. Tableau, Pandas, D3.js, ggplot, etc).
• Familiarity with open-source front end libraries that manipulate PDF documents such as PDF.js.
• Proficiency in Python software development, especially web service development in Flask or Django.
