About the position

The Software Engineer - Fusion Applications Development role at Oracle is designed for new college graduates, specifically targeting those who are current students or have graduated within 12 months of the target start date, which is set for June/July 2025. This position is part of a program aimed at enhancing the learning experience of early-career talent while providing opportunities to work across multiple teams within the Applications Development organization. The program is structured to help new hires build their professional network and accelerate their career growth while contributing to innovative projects that shape the future of technology. As a Software Engineer, you will be part of a team that is at the forefront of developing next-generation enterprise-class applications for the cloud. These applications are designed to inspire the workforce, optimize supply chains, and enhance customer experiences, all while supporting sustainability initiatives. You will engage in a collaborative and agile environment, utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, IoT, and Blockchain to solve real-world problems. Your role will involve writing code, completing programming projects, and performing testing and debugging of Oracle software, allowing you to apply your knowledge and creativity in practical scenarios. Responsibilities

  • Design and build innovative new systems from the ground up.
  • Write code and complete programming projects.
  • Perform testing and debugging of Oracle software.

Requirements

  • Graduated with a Bachelor's in Computer Science or an equivalent science/engineering field within 12 months of the actual start date, no later than August 2025.
  • Proficient in Java and one or more additional programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, SQL, or Scala.
  • Demonstrated experience with Android and/or iOS mobile application development, Unix and/or Linux Operating Systems, or Big Data tools/frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hive, Hadoop, MapReduce, Kafka).
  • Completed coursework, projects, internships, or research in at least three of the following areas: Algorithms and Data Structures, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Database, Machine Learning, Object-Oriented Programming, Operating Systems, Software Programming, Web Development, Micro-Services Architecture, Container Architectures (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), User Interface Design.
  • Experience with XML, JSON, node.js, JavaScript, and REST APIs.
  • Completed at least one internship, research assistantship, teaching assistantship, or equivalent practical experience in relevant technical areas.
  • Reside in the United States and/or attend a university in the US.
  • Able to obtain work authorization in the US in 2025.
