About the position

The Software Engineer Principal IT is responsible for ensuring that technology solutions are designed to meet various use cases including resiliency, stability, and operational readiness. This role involves ongoing development, maintenance, support, and architecture of existing systems and platforms, while also providing thought leadership in software architecture and engineering best practices, as well as Agile and DevOps methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring technology solutions are designed to meet resiliency, stability, non-functional, functional and operational readiness use cases
• Responsible for ongoing development, maintenance and support of existing systems and platforms
• Provide thought leadership and champion software engineering best practices, innovative solutioning and Agile and Dev Ops best practices
• Participate in staffing plans to identify subject matter experts (SMEs) and provide feedback for staff performance reviews
• Own technology solutions within area, including proactive monitoring and alerting, technological roadmap communication of overall health and future sustainability
• Partner with Architecture, Infrastructure and Security to ensure excellence in solution design and evolution of systems architecture
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
• 8 years of extensive technical experience in a variety of application development or package software implementations
• Proven experience of ongoing education related to technology trends within software development and support
• Proven experience with multiple development and support methodologies
• Ability to manage work direction and lead, influence, mentor, and provide feedback to others within team
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship
