About the position

Travelers is seeking a Software Engineer I to join our organization as we grow and transform our Technology landscape. This role involves completing intermediate end-to-end engineering tasks for specific system assignments, including developing, analyzing, configuring, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, documenting, health monitoring/alerting, and implementing based on user or system design specifications. The individual will also participate in troubleshooting, conduct impact analysis, and escalate issues appropriately.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis, design, development, and configuration functions for assignments of intermediate complexity.
  • Participate with the team to perform analysis, assessment, and resolution for defects and incidents of intermediate complexity.
  • Work within guidelines set by the team to independently tackle well-scoped problems.
  • Seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in work experience.
  • One year of programming/development experience.
  • Four years of programming/development experience in Java/.NET C# language is required.
  • Deep experience in .NET and/or Java programming concepts is desired.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for .NET and/or Java applications.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly as needed.
  • Dependable person that can lead entire effort from beginning to deployment.
  • Integration experience with IAM technologies such as LDAP, Active Directory, SailPoint, Okta, etc.
  • Experience with Windows, Linux/Unix, scripting (Bash, Powershell, or Perl), SQL, and web services desired.
  • Experienced in designing/implementing APIs and API Integration.
  • Troubleshooting and application enhancement experience for Java/.NET applications is required.
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concepts is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Three years of programming/development experience preferred.
  • Experience with Okta is desired.
