About the position

The Software Engineer I position at Travelers involves completing intermediate engineering tasks related to system assignments, including development, analysis, configuration, testing, debugging, and implementation based on user or system design specifications. Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis, design, development, and configuration functions for assignments of intermediate complexity.
  • Participate in the analysis, assessment, and resolution of defects and incidents, escalating as necessary.
  • Independently tackle well-scoped problems within team guidelines.
  • Seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • One year of programming/development experience.
  • Four years of programming/development experience in Java/.NET C# language is required.
  • Deep experience in .NET and/or Java programming concepts is desired.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for .NET and/or Java applications.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly as needed.
  • Integration experience with IAM technologies such as LDAP, Active Directory, SailPoint, Okta, etc.
  • Experience with Windows, Linux/Unix, scripting (Bash, Powershell, or Perl), SQL, and web services desired.
  • Experienced in designing/implementing APIs and API Integration.
  • Troubleshooting and application enhancement experience for Java/.NET applications is required.
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concepts is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Three years of programming/development experience preferred.
  • Experience with Okta is desired.
