About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer II to join our dynamic team in Orlando, Florida. This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work on innovative projects that contribute to the aerospace sector. As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications for our products and customers. Your role will involve technical analysis, planning, and problem-solving using best engineering practices and knowledge of emerging technological trends across the full spectrum of software development activities. You will work closely with hardware engineers to understand hardware specifications and constraints, ensuring seamless integration between software and hardware components. In this position, you will implement bug fixes, product enhancements, and new features for existing products. You will also assist with ground-up product development, developing robust software solutions that control or extract data from hardware devices, optimizing system performance, and ensuring reliability and security. Your contributions will be pivotal in troubleshooting and resolving any software-hardware interfacing issues, making you an integral part of our engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing bug fixes, product enhancements, and new features for existing products.
  • Assisting with ground-up product development.
  • Developing robust software solutions that control or extract data from hardware devices, optimizing system performance, and ensuring reliability and security.
  • Collaborating with hardware engineers to understand hardware specifications and constraints and troubleshoot software-hardware interfacing issues.

Requirements

  • Experience with C, C++, C#, Windows, and Linux application development is preferred.
  • Background in software development with a good understanding of hardware architectures.
  • Experience with real-time operating systems and device drivers.
  • The ability to adapt and learn new development techniques and technologies when presented with a challenge.
  • A college degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience.
  • US Citizenship is required. The role requires the ability to obtain a security clearance in the future.
