About the position

The Software Engineer II - Computer Vision position is focused on developing software solutions for the Mixed Reality HUD Sensor team, which is part of a project aimed at enhancing training and in-field deployment capabilities for the U.S. Army's Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS). The role involves implementing and supporting the sensor processing pipeline, utilizing advanced technologies such as computer vision, machine learning, and human-computer interaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, particularly in C++, and will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders to gather and analyze features, document specifications, and develop software solutions to meet customer requirements for existing and future products.
• Investigate issues, develop, integrate, and validate improvements to current products.
• Develop efficient and robust system software for computer vision systems.
• Conduct post-implementation validation of software and address any defects identified during field testing.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to identify and resolve problems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Experience in implementing computer vision and/or signal processing algorithms.
• Ability to meet customer and/or government security screening requirements.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Unity / C# development.
• Familiarity with GPU development and optimization.
• Experience with camera calibration for computer vision systems (extrinsic/intrinsic).
• Ability to work with cross-discipline engineering teams to coordinate product development and testing.
