About the position

Travelers is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our organization as we grow and transform our Technology landscape. This role involves completing advanced end-to-end engineering tasks for specific system assignments, including designing, developing, analyzing, configuring, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, documenting, and implementing based on user or system specifications. The individual will also consult with users to determine functional specifications and manage interactions between systems and technical support areas.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis, design, development, and configuration functions with high accuracy and speed.
  • Perform analysis, assessment, and resolution for defects and incidents of advanced complexity.
  • Work independently to tackle well-scoped and loosely scoped problems.
  • Seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in work experience.
  • Two years of programming/development experience.
  • Four years of programming/development experience in Java/.NET C# language is required.
  • Deep experience in .NET and/or Java programming concepts is desired.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for .NET and/or Java applications.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly as needed.
  • Dependable person that can lead entire effort from beginning to deployment.
  • Integration experience with IAM technologies such as LDAP, Active Directory, SailPoint, Okta, etc.
  • Experience with Windows, Linux/Unix, scripting (Bash, Powershell, or Perl), SQL, and web services desired.
  • Experienced in designing/implementing APIs and API Integration.

Nice-to-haves

  • Four years of programming/development experience in IAM preferred.
  • Experience with Okta is desired.
