About the position

The Software Engineer II position at Travelers involves advanced engineering tasks focused on designing, developing, and implementing software solutions. The role requires collaboration with users to define system specifications and managing interactions between systems. The ideal candidate will contribute to team goals while providing technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced employees.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis, design, development, and configuration functions with high accuracy and speed.
  • Analyze, assess, and resolve defects and incidents of advanced complexity.
  • Work independently on well-scoped and loosely scoped problems.
  • Seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Two years of programming/development experience.
  • Four years of programming/development experience in Java/.NET C# language is required.
  • Deep experience in .NET and/or Java programming concepts is desired.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for .NET and/or Java applications.
  • Integration experience with IAM technologies such as LDAP, Active Directory, SailPoint, Okta, etc.
  • Experience with Windows, Linux/Unix, scripting (Bash, Powershell, or Perl), SQL, and web services desired.
  • Experienced in designing/implementing APIs and API Integration.
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concepts is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Okta is desired.
  • Experience in IAM preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to break down large problems into smaller, manageable ones.
