About the position

As a Software Engineer II at Walmart, you will leverage your expertise in Swift or Kotlin to develop and enhance the Walmart Business App. This role focuses on creating scalable e-commerce applications for both iOS and Android platforms, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that improve customer experiences and empower team members.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop highly scalable e-commerce applications for the iOS or Android platform.
  • Implement applications with standard iPhone/iPad UI components and create custom UI.
  • Write multi-threaded and networked applications.
  • Solve complex software systems problems using state-of-the-art technology.
  • Drive high-visibility projects across the organization.
  • Participate in medium- to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects by reviewing project requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
  • Gather requested information, write and develop code, conduct unit testing, and communicate status and issues to team members and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, troubleshoot open issues, and enhance design to prevent re-occurrences of defects.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of the iOS or Android application life cycle.
  • Knowledge of Swift programming language, iPhone SDK, and XCode OR knowledge of Kotlin programming language for Android.
  • Experience writing multi-threaded and networked applications.
  • Excellent communication skills in both technical and non-technical discussions.
  • Proficient with event-driven architecture.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in Security+, Network+, GISF, or GSEC.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge of implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.
