About the position

The Software Engineer II, ServiceNow at Cox Automotive is responsible for developing and maintaining code within the ServiceNow platform. This role focuses on implementing new capabilities, enhancing performance, and ensuring the maintainability of the system. The position requires collaboration with team members to conceptualize software engineering outcomes and provide technical support for existing and new functionalities.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize technical and procedural skills to support the team's work within ServiceNow or other relevant systems.
  • Participate in design and development discussions, aiding the team in conceptualizing desired outcomes from a software engineering perspective.
  • Assist in estimating features and elements in terms of technical input, resources, time, and anticipated outcomes.
  • Provide technical support, including troubleshooting and enhancements for both existing and new functionalities.
  • Document processes to capture best practices, methodologies, and ensure repeatability.
  • Communicate updates, challenges, and concerns to team members, managers, product owners, and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices.
  • Design, code, test, correct, and document ServiceNow scripts, workflows, triggers, and actions based on agreed specifications and standards.
  • Participate in reviews of their work and lead reviews of colleagues' work.
  • Manage ServiceNow enhancements to improve business performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 2 years' experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide Scripting, and API development.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with Agile application development practices.
