About the position
Cox Automotive is seeking a dedicated software engineer to join their team, focusing on creating innovative software solutions that enhance customer experiences. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to transform requirements into actionable tasks, engaging in the software development lifecycle, and ensuring high-quality software delivery.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to understand and transform requirements into actionable tasks.
- Estimate the scope of development work for various projects and enhancements.
- Engage in team discussions and contribute to problem-solving sessions.
- Develop, test, and refine software components using Java and other relevant tools.
- Collaborate with the QA team to ensure thorough testing and quality assurance for all developed features.
- Troubleshoot and rectify software issues to ensure optimal system performance.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure consistent code quality and learn from peers.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 2 years' experience in a related field, or a master's degree with up to 2 years' experience, or 14 years' experience in a related field.
- 2 years professional software development experience with Java.
- Understanding or familiarity with cloud platforms, notably Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with Docker is a bonus.
- Solid grasp of software development best practices and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience working in an agile development environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior Cox Auto experience, preferably within I5.
- Prior Vehicle Finance/Vehicle Audit application development experience.
