About the position

The Software Engineer II position at Cummins Inc. involves building high-quality software solutions while adhering to coding standards and technical design. The role requires participation in the software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, and support of software applications. The engineer will work closely with users and other technical teams to gather requirements and ensure the delivery of effective software solutions that meet business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software solutions by studying information needs and conferring with users.
  • Document and demonstrate solutions, including developing flow charts and layouts.
  • Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications and standards.
  • Recommend state-of-the-art development tools and programming techniques.
  • Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development issues while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Improve applications by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.
  • Define applications and their interfaces, and communicate requirements for interactions with solution context.
  • Provide oversight and foster Built-In Quality and Team and Technical Agility.
  • Maintain strong relationships to deliver business value using Business Relationship Management practices.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of application development and implementation experience using Power Platform and SharePoint Online.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of building assets using SPFX and the M365 Power Platform.
  • Experience in building model-driven PowerApps.
  • Expert knowledge of SharePoint Online, including custom pages, lists, forms, and views.
  • Proficient in React, JavaScript, and Typescript for web-based applications.
  • Experience with Power Platform connectors for data integration.
  • Proficient in Visual Studio Code for application development and debugging.
  • Competency in writing PowerShell and SharePoint PnP scripts.
  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint APIs and Graph API.
