About the position

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase, you will be a key member of the Community & Consumer Banking - Deposits platform team, responsible for designing and delivering secure, stable, and scalable technology products. This role involves executing critical technology solutions across various business functions to support the firm's objectives, while contributing to a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Create secure and high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
  • Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
  • Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets for continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
  • Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events exploring new and emerging technologies.
  • Define and set development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operations, considering security, stability, and resiliency.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability within a cloud environment (AWS).
  • Proficient in coding in one or more languages such as Java, Python, Spring Boot.
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming languages and database querying languages.
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile).
  • Hands-on experience in application development using EC2, S3, EMR, Lambda.
  • Provision AWS resources into multiple cloud accounts through automated pipeline using Terraform.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes (EKS, ECS).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within distributed cloud deployments and cloud-native architectures.
  • Experience with AWS platform monitoring tools like Cloudwatch and Datadog.
