About the position

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your testing software engineering career to the next level. As a Software Engineer III - Lead Tester at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and test trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives. In particular, you will be a liaison between the lines of business IT teams, Product owners, external vendors, and the Development teams while designing and performing testing on firm-wide software products. Your responsibilities will include analyzing business and data requirements to support the implementation of an application's full functionality. You will work closely with the business and other analysts to describe existing business processes, build an understanding of business needs, how the systems are built, how the data is managed, and create a functional design for a given application. You will analyze business requirements and document them in a way that is unambiguous and clear, collaborating with development teams to come up with functional designs that meet these requirements. As the lead for Testing / QA functions, you will manage the backlog for Agile development, identify Test Scenarios, and write Positive and Negative Test Cases. You will also manage project task estimations and risk management issues, execute test cases, and document results in tools such as qTest. Your role will involve executing software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems. You will produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met by software code development. Additionally, you will gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems. You will contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies, while also adding to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3 years applied experience.
  • Ability to understand the logic of code and construct complex data queries.
  • Advanced business and data analysis, business process, and application knowledge.
  • Ability to model process flows, data relationship flows, and event sequencing.
  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm.
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming languages and database querying languages.
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop/HIVE/Spark.
  • Exposure to Public Cloud platform and tools e.g., AWS.
  • Working proficiency in developmental toolsets.
