About the position

As a Software Engineer III - Java/Kafka/AWS Developer at JPMorgan Chase, you will be a key member of an agile team focused on designing and delivering technology products aimed at fraud detection and prevention. This role involves executing software solutions, maintaining high-quality production code, and ensuring the stability and security of applications within the Corporate Sector - Fraud Risk Technology.

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with innovative approaches to build solutions.
• Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
• Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets for continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
• Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
• Adopts new technologies quickly and shares knowledge with the team.
• Assists junior team members and fosters a collaborative environment.
• Troubleshoots and debugs issues in production environments and provides timely resolutions.
• Ensures code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and continuous integration.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
• Experience with Java/J2EE and core APIs with a deep understanding of the language.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficient in coding in one or more languages.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in implementing Microservices using Spring Boot and Event-Driven architecture.
• Experience in using SQL & Database - Oracle or similar.
