About the position

As a Software DevOps Engineer at Spectrum, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for developing and maintaining cutting-edge big data systems and applications. Your role will involve collaborating with business and product owners to provide critical insights that drive decision-making and enhance connectivity and entertainment experiences for nearly 100 million users. This position offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid model, combining in-office and remote work, while engaging in innovative projects that require problem-solving and technical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and solve complex problems related to Linux administration.
  • Utilize advanced scripting knowledge in Bash, Python, or Java.
  • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code to build and maintain highly available systems.
  • Ensure compliance with technology security and industry regulations.
  • Design, build, and maintain enterprise solutions using distributed computing systems.
  • Respond to on-call queries in collaboration with an offshore team for 24/7 support.
  • Contribute to technical requirements and design documents.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation.
  • Enhance knowledge of technologies such as Elasticsearch, NiFi, and ArcGIS.

Requirements

  • 1-3+ years of experience with Database Management Systems.
  • 1-3+ years of experience in coding, testing, and designing software.
  • 1-3+ years of experience with Software Development Methodologies.
  • BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of a major programming language/tool.
  • Knowledge of coding language syntax, functions, and object-oriented patterns.
  • Familiarity with environments, docker images, container runtimes, and cloud-native app development.
  • Understanding of dependent systems, APIs, data stores, and CI/CD Pipelines.
  • Knowledge of design patterns and frameworks.
