About the position

As a Software Engineer III, Machine Learning and Cloud at JPMorgan Chase, you will be a key member of an agile team responsible for designing and delivering innovative technology products. This role focuses on developing and deploying machine learning models to support various Consumer and Community Bank Finance products, ensuring solutions are secure, stable, and scalable. You will collaborate with Data Scientists, Product Owners, and Data Engineers to drive technical decisions and enhance the firm's business objectives through technology and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Execute standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Write secure and high-quality code using Python or Java programming languages.
  • Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve automation value.
  • Leverage Cloud services to build ML pipelines for implementing, deploying, and productionizing ML models.
  • Work with Business stakeholders and Product Owners to understand requirements.
  • Collaborate with SRE for infrastructure and production changes.
  • Ingest data from multiple sources.
  • Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equality, inclusion, and respect.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Experience in Python programming language.
  • Hands-on experience using PySpark API.
  • Understanding of Cloud services architecture and usage.
  • Background with Machine Learning Frameworks and Big Data technologies such as Hadoop and Hive.
  • Experience working with databases such as Oracle or Cassandra.
  • Exposure to Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes in cloud, AI, machine learning, and data analytics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Big Data/Distributed computing technologies like Spark, Kafka, Terraform, Kubernetes, AWS.
  • Experience with Python Machine Learning libraries and ecosystem (Pandas, Numpy, etc.).
