About the position

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Banking team, you will be part of an agile team responsible for designing and delivering Pega applications. This role focuses on executing critical technology solutions across various business functions to support the firm's objectives, ensuring that applications are secure, stable, and scalable.

Responsibilities

  • Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Create secure and high-quality production code.
  • Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met.
  • Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets.
  • Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events exploring new and emerging technologies.
  • Foster a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 3+ years of applied experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on practical experience with Pega, including system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • 2+ years of hands-on practical experience with Java, including system design and application development.
  • Experience and good understanding of SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle DB.
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and database querying languages.
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline.

Nice-to-haves

  • Java & AWS experience or certifications are preferred.
  • Certification on Pega is preferred.
