Software Engineer Intern-Summer 2025

About the position

The Software Engineer Intern position at ABB for Summer 2025 offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of software engineering, specifically focusing on embedded systems and product development. Interns will work closely with senior engineers, contributing to the design and development of instrumentation products while enhancing their technical skills and knowledge in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and Development of Embedded Linux based Product for Instrumentation
• Analyzing problems or deficiencies and developing Product solutions to resolve them
• Conducting experiments and evaluations to improve and innovate product designs
• Learning development on C++, real time OS
• Work directly with Senior Engineers to develop and test new approaches for ABB Products
• Learning Azure Devops and other agile management methodologies

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in computer science engineering or related field
• Knowledge of C++, Embedded Linux, RTOS
• Reliable transportation to and from the worksite
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future
• Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions
• Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
• Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality
• Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress
