About the position

T. Rowe Price is seeking a Software Engineer with a focus on Java and AWS to enhance the Individual Investors Secure Digital Experience business. This role involves hands-on coding throughout the software development lifecycle, contributing to the transformation of client experiences through cloud computing and resilient software services.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to all parts of the SDLC, including design, development, and testing.
• Develops technical solutions following standard methodologies with guidance from senior engineers.
• Practices automated testing and tests work in an automated and repeatable way.
• Works with existing data models and schemas, suggesting changes and improvements.
• Demonstrates strong logic and reasoning capabilities.
• Delivers on well-specified work items.
• Uses questions and proposals to clarify requirements when unclear.
• Engages directly with business partners to articulate needs and translate them into technology solutions.

Requirements

• Typically a completed BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline and 2+ years of progressive Java development experience.
• Experience with ReactJS or other JavaScript frameworks is helpful.
• Experience in AWS cloud technologies is helpful.
• Expertise in designing, developing, deploying, and supporting Java-based solutions.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and stay abreast of industry trends.
• Ability to operate with openness and efficiency with one or more SDLC methodologies (e.g., Scrum).
• Actively seeks feedback and guidance to improve technical skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with ReactJS or other JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience in AWS cloud technologies.
