About the position

This position involves developing innovative software solutions in a sophisticated product domain at KLA, a global leader in diversified electronics for the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem. The role presents technical challenges and opportunities for leadership and collaboration with software and algorithms teams across KLA. The focus is on enhancing high-performance computing (HPC) software systems that integrate high-speed imaging and image processing technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance HPC software systems at KLA.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with key collaborators across multiple KLA products.
  • Translate sophisticated product requirements into clear software definitions.
  • Work in a leadership and mentoring capacity to develop and deliver software products.
  • Collaborate with technical program managers and software quality assurance to improve team efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Computational Physics, Computational Chemistry, Astrophysics, Computer Science, or related field with minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's with minimum 3 years, or a PhD with 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Proficient coding experience in Java or C++ and Python on Linux or Windows systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux OS, IP Networking, and File System Management.
  • Experience with software development using OOP in high-level languages like Java/C++.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux internals, memory management, and Linux Kernel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in distributed systems computing or tools like Kubernetes or SLURM.
  • Familiarity with parallel programming and software optimization techniques such as CUDA, AVX, SIMD, MPI, and Open MP.
