About the position

The Software Engineer position at Early Warning involves developing, documenting, testing, debugging, and maintaining software product applications. The role is integral to enhancing core product offerings and requires collaboration with team members to deliver on the team's backlog. This position is ideal for candidates eager to tackle large-scale challenges in a predominantly Java environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop features and capabilities to enhance Early Warning core product offerings.
  • Manage source code using Git.
  • Query platform data using SQL-based databases.
  • Work on Java Web Services using Spring Boot.
  • Track sprint work in Jira and document decisions in Confluence.
  • Build automated tests integrated into the CI/CD pipeline alongside sprint work.
  • Submit pull requests and integrate review feedback from team members.
  • Troubleshoot routine or moderately complex bugs that may arise during development.
  • Support the company's commitment to risk management and protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Familiarity with Git source control.
  • Familiarity with writing automated tests.
  • Familiarity with SQL.
  • Working knowledge of RESTful service design.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen or US National.
