About the position

The Software Engineer position at Bluestaq is designed for individuals who are beginning their software development careers. Responsibilities

• Build small features and contribute bug fixes in a reasonable time frame.
• Communicate scope and state of work, including articulating roadblocks.
• Resolve routine issues and problems effectively.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of software development foundations.
• Deliver on multiple competing priorities within a team-centric environment.
• Take responsibility for personal development and display a strong sense of ownership for projects.

Requirements

• 1+ years of software development experience with a Bachelor of Science degree.
• Associate degree with 2 additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• High School Diploma with 4 additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• Proficiency in Java or Python programming languages.
• Background in applied security concepts and cloud-based infrastructures, particularly AWS.
• Hands-on experience with big data technologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively within a team.

Nice-to-haves

• Advanced degrees in computer science or related fields.
• CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification.
• Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of Java build systems like Maven and Gradle.
