About the position

The Software Engineer (Java) II position is a hybrid role based in Santa Clara, CA, focused on backend development using Java and Spring Boot, as well as database management with both NoSQL and relational databases. The role requires proficiency in cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform, and experience with containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes. This is a contract position with a duration of 6+ months, with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Cassandra, including schema design and performance tuning.
• Develop and optimize relational databases using MySQL or MSSQL, including replication and backup strategies.
• Build scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot, ensuring best practices in object-oriented design.
• Develop RESTful APIs and integrate them with databases and security frameworks.
• Utilize Google Cloud Platform services for application deployment and management.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications using Docker and Helm charts.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.

Requirements

• Strong experience in Java programming and object-oriented design.
• In-depth knowledge of Spring Boot for building microservices.
• Proficient in NoSQL databases like MongoDB and Cassandra, as well as relational databases like MySQL and MSSQL.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and version control systems.
