About the position

As a Software Engineer Lead at PNC, you will be responsible for the technical design and development of API software solutions within an Agile team. This role involves mentoring team members, addressing bugs or defects, and proposing solutions to complex business needs. You will work closely with testers and other colleagues to ensure high-quality software delivery while fostering an inclusive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

• Creates and leads the technical design and development of software solutions.
• Proposes & designs software solutions to address complex business needs.
• Prepares technical and procedural documentation required.
• Facilitates complex problem resolution.
• Provides technical guidance and support to colleagues.
• Reviews coding, testing, and documentation of software.
• Applies modern principles, methodologies and tools to advance business initiatives and capabilities.

Requirements

• Proficiency with Java development (JAVA 8.0 and up).
• Deep knowledge of Spring Framework.
• Experience working with and writing RESTful APIs, specifically Spring Boot microservices.
• Understanding of OPENAPI specification and its usage in describing HTTP APIs.
• Familiarity with Microservices security best practices.
• Ability to work independently and assume ownership of technical solutions.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Experience working within an Agile Methodology.
• 3+ years of relevant industry experience.

Nice-to-haves

• DEVOPS/Continuous build environment knowledge and experience.
• Understanding of Kafka streaming.
• Exposure to OpenShift and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with development tools such as Postman, IntelliJ IDEA, and VS Code.
• Familiarity with data formats like JSON and XML.
