About the position
The Software Engineer, Level II position focuses on developing and maintaining software solutions using Java in a secure environment. The role requires extensive experience in Java programming, particularly in hyperthreading and multithreading, and necessitates a current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. The position is based on-site in Fort Meade, Maryland, and is not eligible for remote work.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software solutions using Java.
- Utilize knowledge of hyperthreading and multithreading in programming tasks.
- Collaborate with team members to design and implement software features.
Requirements
- Strong Java skills, including knowledge of hyperthreading and multithreading.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
- 14 years of relevant experience in software engineering.
- Current active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Working knowledge of wireless and telephony protocols.
- Hands-on engineering skills with Digital Multiplexers, Analog and Digital Signals, Voice/Vocoders, TDMs, Spread Spectrum, SONET/SDH/OTN, ETHERNET, PCM, VSAT, OSI Model, and Computer to Computer (C2C) structure.
- Familiarity with protocols and data such as MPLS, Psuedowire, TDMop, ATM, Frame Relay, Cisco, Nortel, X.25, PPP, IP, TCP, UDP, VOIP, VOFR, and Fragmentation.
