About the position
Brigit is seeking a Software Engineer with mobile or platform experience to enhance its next-generation consumer finance platform. The role involves influencing frontend architecture and building user-centric mobile and web clients using React and TypeScript. The engineer will work on new products and features aimed at helping users save and improve their credit options, while also addressing scalability and maintainability challenges as the user base grows from 100k to 10 million.
Responsibilities
- Lead frontend-oriented projects on the DevX team focused on improving engineering velocity.
- Program in TypeScript, React, and Java to reduce friction for engineers.
- Work closely with the tech lead to ensure frontend architecture cohesion.
- Identify opportunities for improvements and innovation in technology and development processes.
- Improve build tooling to help with testing and scaling systems.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 3+ years of full-time experience in the React Native ecosystem
- Strong understanding of software architecture and agile development practices
- Knowledge of software development tools and related technologies, such as build systems, automation, dependency management, and security
- Up-to-date grasp of the constantly evolving JS language standards, ES6 and beyond
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across teams.
Nice-to-haves
- TypeScript or other transpile-to-JS languages
- Native mobile app development experience
- Experience building internal tooling for engineering teams
- SRE experience
- Supporting and building tooling for GraphQL APIs and clients
- Knowledge or experience in Finance / FinTech.
