About the position

EchoStar Corporation is seeking a Software Engineer for OSS/BSS Application within our Hughes Network Systems division, located in Germantown, MD. This role involves architecting, designing, and developing OSS/BSS applications that are critical to our satellite communication solutions. The successful candidate will lead both onsite and offshore software development teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software and assisting in the successful field deployments of the developed software. The position requires a proactive approach to reviewing, maintaining, and enhancing existing software architecture while providing direction for future product software architecture. In this role, you will be responsible for defining the Interface Control Document (ICD) and ensuring its review and closure with other impacted subsystems. You will also participate in status review meetings with higher management to ensure that all actions and dependencies are addressed in a timely manner. This position is pivotal in driving the success of our software solutions and requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design and develop OSS/BSS applications.
• Lead onsite/offshore software development teams to ensure quality software deliverables.
• Assist in successful field deployments of developed software.
• Review, maintain, identify and enhance existing software architecture.
• Provide direction for future product software architecture.
• Define Interface Control Document (ICD) and ensure its review and closure with impacted subsystems.
• Participate in status review meetings with higher management to address actions and dependencies.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related field plus 6 months' experience in OSS/BSS applications.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related field plus 5 years' experience in OSS/BSS applications.
• Experience must include 6 months in Java, J2EE, Oracle, Unix, MongoDB, Redhat, JBoss, Springboot, JMeter, SOAP, WSDL, Kafka, Angular, Node.js, Jenkins, and Oracle Billing and Revenue Management System.
