About the position

CarShield is seeking an experienced PHP Developer to join its growing creative IT team. This role will play a crucial role in maintaining and upgrading PHP applications, and contributing well-designed code. The PHP Developer will report to the Enterprise Architect and will be responsible for taking over internal PHP application maintenance, along with bringing the application up to the newest PHP version. The position requires writing efficient and well-designed code using best software development practices, integrating data from various backend services and databases, and collaborating with other department team members for new features and changes to the application. Additionally, the PHP Developer will be responsible for training users, as needed, on technical changes within the scope of the position, as well as the creation and maintenance of software documentation. Responsibilities

  • Taking over internal PHP application maintenance, along with bringing the application up to the newest PHP version.
  • Writing efficient and well-designed code using best software development practices.
  • Integrating data from various backend services and databases.
  • Working with other department team members for new features/changes to the application.
  • Training users, as needed, on technical changes within scope of position.
  • Creation and maintenance of software documentation.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work in-office in St. Peters, MO.
  • 2+ years' experience in similar role.
  • Strong working experience with PHP with MVC and JavaScript.
  • Strong problem solving skills across all areas of web development.
  • Strong understanding of performance and system security issues.
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Solid organizational skills with extreme attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet project deadlines.
  • A positive attitude with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
