The Engineering Support Unit at BAE Systems, Inc. is seeking a talented and energetic ground system engineer to join our team in support of the operation of space vehicles and ground systems for commercial, DoD, and NASA customers. This position involves working on a tightly integrated team in a fast-paced Agile environment, where the focus is on delivering continuous innovation to our customers. The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit is composed of technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers' missions. Our collaborative, cross-functional teams are dedicated to innovation, integrity, continual learning, and strong execution. In this role, you will deploy and maintain critical applications on a cloud-native microservices architecture. You will implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and system monitoring solutions, as well as create and maintain Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Supporting the efforts of cross-functional development teams that are developing advanced systems will be a key part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers and maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units, and the Company is essential. You will also interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment and perform other duties as necessary. The position requires regular in-person engagement, working on-site five days a week in the primary work location. Travel and local commuting between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required. The working conditions involve performing tasks in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors, or in a remote research environment. Occasionally, you may work in production work centers where the use of protective equipment and gear is required, and you may access other facilities in various weather conditions.
