About the position

The Software Engineer for Project Kuiper will be part of a team dedicated to building innovative technology aimed at increasing global broadband access through a satellite constellation. This role focuses on developing software solutions that support the installation and management of antennas for Kuiper internet, ensuring efficient operations and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Solve difficult problems using appropriate technologies and best practices.
• Invent, design, and build stable and performant software with the team.
• Apply a broad range of design approaches and know when to use them appropriately.
• Write understandable code for future developers unfamiliar with the system.
• Minimize the use of short-term workarounds and complexity in solutions.
• Create flexible software without over-engineering, making judicious trade-offs.
• Optimize resource usage including system hardware, database, and memory/CPU.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Nice-to-haves

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
