About the position

As a Software Engineer on Developer Productivity at Palantir Technologies, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the velocity and quality of engineering efforts. Your work will focus on building software that empowers other developers, enabling them to create impactful solutions across various domains. This position involves developing frameworks, libraries, and tooling to improve service operations and adherence to best practices, while also contributing to open-source projects. You will work autonomously within a supportive community, driving innovations in Python and other technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Define and build standard practices for how services are operated and observed throughout their deployment.
  • Build frameworks, libraries, and tooling for defining service APIs and the RPC interactions between microservices.
  • Help developers understand and adhere to development best practices by building great tools and development processes.
  • Push Palantir to the cutting edge of software supply chain security.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or Physics.
  • Strong coding skills with demonstrated proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, Rust, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages.
  • Ability to dive into and navigate complex systems to better understand the nuances in how they work.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and work independently and make decisions with minimal direction.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with open-source databases like Cassandra, Lucene, Elasticsearch.
  • Familiarity with open-source libraries/frameworks like Rattler, Conda, GraphQL, Undertow, Jackson, and Log4j.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard build tooling, including Hatch, Gradle, Webpack, CircleCI, and GitHub.
