About the position
As a Software Engineer at MISO Energy, you will develop applications that support the power grid and enhance market operations for one of the largest energy markets in the world. This role involves collaborating with various teams to create tools that improve decision-making and operational efficiency, ultimately impacting the electricity supply for 45 million people.
Responsibilities
- Design and build high-performance applications.
- Code, test, and implement programs to meet business and compliance needs.
- Collaborate with teams to create tools that enhance market operations and decision-making.
- Partner with business groups to define and refine application requirements.
- Ensure code integrity with checks and balances for operational controls.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation support.
- Solve complex issues, communicate recommendations, and implement solutions for management and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields (or equivalent experience) with 1 to 5 years of experience.
- Experience in Python, Angular, SQL, or other relevant technologies.
- Git experience.
- Enthusiasm for coding and collaborating with teams to build and enhance tools and processes that empower better decision-making.
Nice-to-haves
- Some knowledge of SQL.
