About the position

Walker Healthforce is seeking a Software Engineer for a healthcare client, offering a contract opportunity to design and develop back-end services. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to translate requirements into robust code and integrating systems using REST APIs. The position emphasizes participation in Agile Scrum processes and the development of applications leveraging modern technologies such as cloud computing and machine learning.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop back-end services using Java, Spring Framework, HTML, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Work with Product Owners, Product Managers, and Architects to translate requirements into robust code.
• Integrate systems using REST APIs, preferably on the Apigee platform.
• Participate in Agile Scrum processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of projects.
• Develop applications leveraging cloud computing, big data, and machine learning technologies.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of processes and source code to ensure clarity and compliance with best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of software development and support experience with Java and Spring Framework.
• Experience with HTML, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Experience with relational databases, including SQL (preferably Oracle).
• Experience with system integration using REST APIs.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with Microsoft ADO and build pipelines.
• Knowledge of Google BigQuery and cloud environments (Google Cloud, Azure).
• Experience with data warehousing, business intelligence, and analytics.
