About the position

As a Software Engineer for the F-22 Air Combat Simulation (ACS) development team at Lockheed Martin, you will be responsible for the development and integration of new features into the simulation, as well as the sustainment of the product. This role involves working on the Operational Flight Program (OFP) for the F-22 aircraft in a Linux environment, supporting pilot training and tactics development. You will be part of a team that develops real-time simulations and systems integration laboratories, focusing on software development, integration, documentation, testing, and debugging of aircraft systems and avionics software models.

Responsibilities

  • Developing software on Linux and Windows platforms using high order languages such as C++, Java, or ADA, and scripting languages like Python or BASH.
  • Applying appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
  • Locating and correcting programming errors, preparing operating instructions, and compiling documentation of program development.
  • Analyzing system capabilities and creating, integrating, and maintaining mathematical models of aircraft systems and avionics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Computer, or Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Science, or another technically related discipline (STEM).
  • Experience in software development in high order languages (like C++ or Java).

Nice-to-haves

  • Master of Science in an Engineering discipline or another technically related discipline from an accredited university.
  • Knowledge of aircraft flight controls and automatic flight controls.
  • Experience with modeling and simulation.
