About the position

The Software Engineer, Site Reliability position at LinkedIn focuses on ensuring the reliability of centralized Pubsub systems, including Kafka, Samza, and Flink. Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary point responsible for the overall health, performance, and capacity of one or more of our Internet-facing services
• Gain deep knowledge of our complex applications
• Assist in the roll-out and ramp up of new product features and technologies to facilitate our rapid iteration and constant growth
• Develop tools to improve our ability to rapidly deploy and effectively monitor custom applications in a large-scale Linux environment
• Participate in a 24x7 rotation for second-tier escalations

Requirements

• BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
• 1+ years of industry experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions
• Experience programming in languages such as Python, Java, Javascript, C/C++, C#, Objective-C, etc.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Java or C++ development
• Preferred languages: Python, Java, C++, Go
• Experience in building systems automation and server backends with Python
• Experience with Linux OS (Azure Linux, Redhat)
• Troubleshoot production systems at scale
