About the position

CyberSource Corporation, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Software Engineer - Sr. Consultant (multiple openings) in Atlanta, GA to be responsible for the architecture, design, development, and implementation of software applications. The role involves evaluating and introducing technology tools and processes that enable Visa to develop products and solutions, to embrace business opportunities and/or improve operational efficiency. The engineer will develop and implement unified control center and monitoring tools to measure, monitor, and report on platform, data availability, utilization, capacity trend, and overall health metrics. Additionally, the position requires formulating methods to enable consistent data loading and optimize data operations, monitoring the health of platforms, generating performance reports, and ensuring on-time delivery of projects, production support plans, and knowledge transfer for long-term supportability of upgrades, enhancements, and deployments. The engineer will also understand usage patterns and workload requirements of new projects, develop code, and mentor junior developers to ensure deliverables are on time, within budget, and with good code quality. This position reports to the Visa Atlanta, Georgia office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the architecture, design, development, and implementation of software applications.
  • Evaluate and introduce technology tools and processes that enable Visa to develop products and solutions.
  • Develop and implement unified control center and monitoring tools to measure, monitor, and report on platform, data availability, utilization, capacity trend, and overall health metrics.
  • Formulate methods to enable consistent data loading and optimize data operations.
  • Monitor health of platforms, generate performance reports, and monitor and provide continuous improvements.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of projects, production support plans, and knowledge transfer for long-term supportability of upgrades, enhancements, and deployments.
  • Understand usage patterns and workload requirements of new projects.
  • Develop code and mentor junior developers to ensure deliverables are on time, within budget, and with good code quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or closely related field.
  • 10 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
  • Experience with Java, J2EE, JDBC, JMS, Spring, Hibernate, JMX, or MBeans.
  • Experience with XML, SQL, or PL/SQL.
  • Experience with HTML, AngularJS, CSS, or JavaScript.
  • Experience with Mac, Linux, Windows, or CentOS.
  • Experience with WebSphere, Apache, Tomcat, or SOA integrations.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Vert.x, GitHub, Oracle Server, or Spring Boot.
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience with Object Oriented Programming.
  • Experience with Distributed Systems.
