About the position

The Software Engineer Tester at Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is responsible for performing security testing throughout the software life cycle in support of a Government Office at WPAFB, Ohio. This role involves collaborating with a team of engineers and developers to implement automated tests, develop software test plans, and provide comprehensive test reports. The position requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance and offers a dynamic work environment focused on national defense and security.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a team of software testers implementing automated tests, developing software test plans, and providing the customer with test reports/artifacts.
  • Knowledge and experience integrating test tools.
  • Develop Software Test Description documentation of capability designs.
  • Test capabilities using pre-defined acceptance criteria, pre-approved test plans, use cases, and test procedures.
  • Accomplish Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) documenting test procedures and conducting functional and regression tests.
  • Complete Integration, Check-out, and Testing (IC&T) and Acceptance Testing (AT) activities.

Requirements

  • Must be able to get and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance, with special access.
  • 5-10 years of experience in DevSecOps, DevOps, or general Software Development.
  • Experience with collaboration tools including but not limited to: Confluence and/or Jira.
  • High degree of proficiency with an IDE such as Visual Studio or Eclipse.
  • Must understand the basics of LINUX, network code, and secure code.
  • Demonstrated ability to use creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving problems.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiar with the DoD Enterprise DevSecOps policies/guidance.
  • Knowledge of military platforms, systems, and operations.
  • Experience working on-site in a government client environment.
  • Security+ or similar certification.
  • ISQTB Certified Tester certificate holder.
