About the position

Panasonic Avionics Corporation is seeking a skilled and experienced Web Application Developer to join our team as a Full Stack Developer. This position is based in our new global headquarters located in Irvine, California, conveniently near John Wayne Airport. The role involves developing and implementing scalable software solutions that enhance the in-flight entertainment experience for passengers using their mobile devices. As part of a dynamic development team, you will collaborate on designing and developing large-scale applications, ensuring that all deliverables meet the latest industry standards and best practices for design, code quality, performance, and security. In this role, you will participate in agile software development processes, including ceremonies, user story reviews, and planning sessions. You will be responsible for developing and updating user experiences, RESTful APIs, associated libraries, and data sources. Additionally, you will conduct design and code reviews, maintain up-to-date documentation, and support software releases by monitoring and resolving defects as needed. Your contributions will include developing web-based software applications, implementing new features based on business requirements, and enhancing existing software components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both front-end and back-end programming languages and frameworks, including proficiency in CSS/SASS/SCSS, HTML/HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, React JS, Node.js, and Python. A minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field, along with 5-10 years of software development experience, is required. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate as part of a development team to design and develop large scale applications
  • Develop and update UX, RESTful APIs, associated libraries, and data sources
  • Participate in agile software development, ceremonies, user story reviews, planning sessions etc.
  • Ensure all deliverables comply with latest industry standards & best practices for design, code quality, performance, and security
  • Conduct design and code reviews with other team members and maintain up to date documentation
  • Support software releases including monitoring and defect resolution when needed
  • Developing and implementing web-based software applications
  • Developing software components and unit tests
  • Implementing new features based on business requirements
  • Collaborating with a team of developers and product managers
  • Developing and maintaining quality software product code
  • Troubleshooting, debugging and upgrading software
  • Building scalable software solutions
  • Assisting in enhancing existing software components and adding new features

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field
  • 5-10 years of experience developing software
  • Proficiency with multiple front-end programming languages and frameworks
  • Proficiency with multiple back-end programming languages and frameworks
  • Proficient in AWS
  • Proficient in database technology

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with additional programming languages or frameworks
  • Familiarity with cloud services beyond AWS
  • Knowledge of mobile application development
