Software Engineer

Lutron Electronics Company, Inc. is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to develop machinery that validates the assembly and configuration of consumer products directly received by end users. As a Software Engineer for our manufacturing test equipment, you will participate in high-impact projects from the start, contributing to maintaining our market position as the world leader in smart lighting and shading systems. Your role will involve working within a cross-functional team to conceptualize, design, and develop customized manufacturing testing solutions and processes that are innovative, intuitive, and high-quality. This machinery will enhance the impact on our operations teams while maximizing value to our end users. Your skills and passion for software will be nurtured in a collaborative environment through apprenticeship and supervision by industry experts. In this position, you will encounter a variety of technologies throughout the tester lifecycle, including Distributed Cloud Services, Desktop and Web Applications, and exposure to software development tools and languages such as C/C++/C#/.NET, SQL, Python, and Atlassian Tools. You will work in several functional areas, including manufacturing testing process development and optimization, information retrieval, data management and analysis, efficient design and use of algorithms and data structures, object-oriented analysis and design, software debugging, testing and tracing, scaled agile software methodology, communications and I/O, multithreading and parallelization, and security. Your responsibilities will include specifying tester requirements with a multidisciplinary team, participating in software design and implementation, developing strategies for verification and validation, testing, deploying, managing, and maintaining software components, and participating in consensus-based software project management, feature estimation, prioritization, reviews, and demos.
