About the position

FTI is seeking experienced professionals in software engineering and architecture to enhance the capabilities of the Department of Defense and other federal entities. The role involves designing, developing, and testing software solutions while collaborating with subject matter experts to meet user needs and resolve complex problems. Candidates will contribute to strategic planning and the development of innovative software systems in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs application software.
  • Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems.
  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls.
  • Prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs.
  • Ensures software standards are met.
  • Develops technical solutions to complex problems requiring ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness.
  • Participates with senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives.
  • Plans R&D programs and recommends technological application programs to accomplish long-range objectives.
  • Applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts, contributing to the development of new principles and concepts.
  • Recommends/makes decisions on administrative or project work matters to ensure effective achievement of program, project, or organizational objectives.
  • Performs technical planning, high-level and detailed requirements definition, test planning and execution, software systems integration, and technical support for software systems and subsystems.
  • Guides the successful completion of major programs.
  • Acts as an advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.

Requirements

  • Active security clearance (Top Secret or TS/SCI).
  • 8+ years of experience in software architecture or engineering roles.
  • 8+ years of progressive software engineering and architectural design experience for large-scale enterprise software engineering projects.
  • 8+ years of experience in a commercial software development company.
