About the position

As a Software Engineer III - Java and AWS Developer at JPMorgan Chase, you will be a key member of an agile team responsible for designing and delivering secure, stable, and scalable technology products. This role involves executing critical technology solutions across various business functions to support the firm's objectives, with a focus on high-quality production code and system architecture improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Create secure and high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
  • Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
  • Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets for continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
  • Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.
  • Foster a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
  • Proficiency in coding in Java and AWS.
  • Experience with AWS services, including ECS, MSK, DynamoDB, EventBridge, Elasticache, and Lambda.
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming languages and database querying languages.
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline.

Nice-to-haves

  • Python experience and AWS certification are highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies, machine learning, and large language models (LLMs) is highly preferred.
