About the position
As a Software Engineer III - Java and AWS Developer at JPMorgan Chase, you will be a key member of an agile team responsible for designing and delivering secure, stable, and scalable technology products. This role involves executing software solutions, developing high-quality production code, and contributing to the continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
Responsibilities
- Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
- Create secure and high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
- Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets.
- Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
- Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.
- Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3 years of applied experience.
- Proficiency in coding in Java and AWS.
- Experience with AWS services, including ECS, MSK, DynamoDB, EventBridge, Elasticache, and Lambda.
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming languages and database querying languages.
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline.
Nice-to-haves
- Python experience and AWS certification are highly preferred.
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies, machine learning, and large language models (LLMs) is highly preferred.
