The Data Scientist Internship at Teradata offers a unique opportunity to work within a dynamic team focused on data science and analytical engineering. Interns will engage in meaningful projects that involve in-database analytics, leveraging AI technologies, and developing scalable models that integrate into Teradata's analytics platform. This role is designed to empower interns to contribute to the future of AI-driven applications while gaining hands-on experience in a fully virtual environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with analytics engineers to develop in-database analytics functions.
• Ensure high accuracy and efficient workload management for analytics tasks.
• Support proof-of-concept (POC) use cases using cutting-edge AI technologies.
• Create solutions and develop scalable models for integration into Teradata's analytics platform.
• Contribute to the development of AI-driven applications such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and recommendation systems.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• PhD or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, with a focus on GenAI, RAG, vector databases, and AI Agents.
• Experience programming in Python, SQL, or related languages.
• Experience in information retrieval or text summarization, and NLP (Natural Language Processing).
• Experience with training, evaluating, or interpreting large language models or multimodal models.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using analytics to solve product or business problems.
• Experience performing statistical analysis and coding in Python, R, or SQL.
