About the position

The internship position at Teradata is designed for students pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD degree, with a focus on providing hands-on experience in software engineering practices related to the Teradata SQL Engine. Interns will work within the SQLES Team to develop scalable solutions for cloud platforms, automate processes, and evaluate new technologies, all while contributing to a collaborative and diverse work environment.

Responsibilities

• Create and validate SQLE images for supported public cloud platforms.
• Develop common/public SQLE Microservice for provisioning and runtime operations related to SQLE.
• Implement in-site SQLE services for cloud runtime operations such as scaling and node failure recovery.
• Provide on-node SQLE services and tools for cloud runtime operations.
• Develop scalable solutions of low/medium complexity on multi-cloud environments.
• Automate application provisioning, system upgrades, and database scale operations.
• Follow professional software engineering practices throughout the full software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Evaluate new technologies, open-source libraries, and cloud-native services to define strategic investments and feature roadmaps.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a BS, MS, or PhD degree program with graduation dates between December 2024 and June 2026.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Decent knowledge and concept of Cloud technologies.
