As we build America's First Smart Network™, we are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead our technology teams in creating intelligent solutions that maximize brand exposure and audience engagement across our platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping the product roadmap and vision for DISH Media, which provides advertisers with innovative tools to effectively reach their target audiences. You will lead a technical team focused on enhancing partnerships, streamlining processes, and improving the reusability of solutions. Your leadership will be crucial in executing the IT vision for platforms that support the Media Sales team in customer acquisition, ad inventory management, campaign fulfillment, and performance tracking. As a Software Engineering Manager, you will set a clear production vision, manage a prioritized backlog of product features, and ensure rigorous execution with attention to detail. You will also develop a deep understanding of the target market, build relationships with key stakeholders, and support the Media Sales team in delivering exceptional value to customers and partners. Your technical guidance will help the development team meet critical deliverables and timelines, while your focus on business impact will drive actionable recommendations based on high-quality data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a technical team of developers, testing & quality assurance, and product owners to improve partnerships and enhance solution reusability.
  • Oversee the IT vision and execution of platforms supporting the DISH Media Sales team for customer acquisition, ad inventory, campaign management, and performance tracking.
  • Translate product vision into specific deliverables and manage the product feature backlog effectively.
  • Support iterative testing and ongoing improvement of the customer experience.
  • Identify and partner on process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Outline the vision for future use-cases to leverage scalability across unique journeys.
  • Focus on business impact and provide actionable recommendations informed by data analysis and metrics.
  • Evolve collaboration across teams by incorporating design thinking and a multi-channel approach.
  • Partner with the Media Sales Data team to identify and deliver new opportunities for data as a product.
  • Communicate and negotiate directly with software vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • At least 6+ years of experience supporting high-volume/large-scale environments.
  • Media industry experience (broadcast or production) preferred.
  • Extensive experience with CRM systems, particularly Salesforce.
  • Proficient in Ad Sales order management systems such as MediaOcean, Decentrix, and WideOrbit.
  • Hands-on experience with ad servers, particularly Freewheel.
  • Familiarity with programmatic buying tools like The Trade Desk.
  • Strong understanding of analytics and reporting tools such as Nielsen and Comscore.
  • Knowledge of addressable TV solutions like Invidi.
  • Experience with public cloud service offerings (AWS, Azure, Google).
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Node.js, Perl).
  • Coaching and support skills for employee development.
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-starter with outstanding organizational skills.

  • Experience in the media industry, particularly in broadcast or production environments.
  • Familiarity with additional analytics tools beyond Nielsen and Comscore.
