About the position

We are looking for a passionate Software Engineering Manager to join our FaceTime, SharePlay, Phone, Voicemail, and more teams. In this role, you will be responsible for setting the agenda for security projects aimed at safeguarding FaceTime and Phone calls. You will maximize team effectiveness by mentoring high-growth employees to succeed in lead roles and make strategic technology decisions that strengthen security while ensuring great user experiences, including sufficient backwards compatibility. Your role will also involve shaping product direction by developing a vision and building relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders, including peer engineering teams, the design team, senior software leadership, and the product marketing team. This team has a duty to shape and drive FaceTime's private and secure calling experience. We fulfill our duty by caring deeply, living on our software, developing defensible opinions on what to keep or change, and having empathy for the countless users in the world who rely on us every day. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Proven experience in software engineering management, particularly in security-related projects.

  • Experience in mentoring and developing team members for leadership roles.
  • Ability to make strategic technology decisions that balance security and user experience.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
