About the position

The Software Engineering Manager for the Enterprise Entitlements Engineering Team at Capital One is responsible for leading a diverse portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers. This role focuses on delivering a compliant and consistent customer experience across various service channels while driving transformation through innovative technology solutions. The manager will collaborate with product managers to create cloud-based solutions that empower customers financially, utilizing a range of programming languages and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers.
• Ensure Capital One delivers a compliant and consistent customer experience across all service channels.
• Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions.
• Utilize programming languages and technologies such as JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, Go, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS tools.
• Mentor team members and participate in technology communities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• At least 4 years of experience in software engineering (excluding internship experience).
• At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
• At least 2 years of people management experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in a relevant field.
• 7+ years of experience in JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go.
• 3+ years of experience influencing and defining technical strategy for a team.
• 4+ years of experience developing API technologies.
• 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service.
• 3+ years of experience building Serverless and Event Driven architectures on AWS.
• 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks.
• 5+ years of people management experience.
• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.
